The neighbourhood of Cabbagetown is a charming and well-preserved enclave of stately Victorian homes with many beautiful mature trees lining the boulevards.
The main street in this area is Parliament Street, which is extremely dynamic and has a wonderful mix of cafΓ©s, pubs and restaurants serving up cuisines from all over the world (Website hidden by Airbnb) A 15-minute walk west brings you to Eaton Centre and the downtown core, while a 15-minute walk east brings you to Riverdale Park, and the Don River Valley with its cycling and walking paths that lead, amongst other places, to the Evergreen Brick Works, a cultural and culinary icon in the city.
The neighbourhood also has a distinctive cultural and bohemian vibe. Not only can you watch some amazing artists play live concerts at the Phoenix theatre (a couple of blocks away), itβs also a full-out entertainment compound with three distinct environments, perfect for events and dancing to the cityβs hottest entertainers. With an amazing sound room and great acoustics, the Main Room has one of the largest dance floors in the city and 5 bars, but youβll still feel like youβre up close and personal when your favourite band plays.
WALKING – The downtown core is within walking distance, and Dundas Square is approximately a 15-min walk from the property
STREETCAR/TRAM – There are 2 lines right around the block – the 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton. Both will take you into the heart of the city and connect you to the rest of the TTC transit system.
SUBWAY – Closest station is Dundas Station, on the Yonge-University Line (Yellow). It is a 15-min walk to the station, or you could take the westbound 505 Dundas Streetcar which will take you to the station in about 6 mins. The other station is Broadview Station, which is on the Bloor-Danforth line (Green) and the eastbound 505 Dundas Streetcar will take you there in 15 mins. In addition, College Station (the yellow Yonge-University line) is a 16-min walk away.
